I was born on a Tuesday in a leap year, February 11, 1964, the day of the Beatles' first concert in the US. I'm pretty chuffed to be turning 60 on a Sunday in a leap year, Transfiguration Sunday, no less, the start of the Great 100 Days of Lent and Easter.
Please join us for worship in person or virtually on Sunday, February 11. And, if you're with us in person, please come to my birthday party in the parish hall following the 10 AM Eucharist. Chocolate cake with chocolate icing + champagne-method sparking wine and lots of other sparkling beverages (waters and sodas) will be on offer along with some other items the details of which I am not supposed to know--and I don't.
I also hope to see you on Ash Wednesday, February 14 at the 7:30 AM, 12 PM, or 7 PM liturgies or for Ashes to Go between the services at the Duval St gates of St Paul's.
Throughout Lent, beginning on Ash Wednesday, we will receive donations for Lenten Love Across the Straits. Along with Trinity Cathedral, Miami, we will collect desperately needed foodstuffs for our siblings in Christ in Cuba. During Easter Week (the week following Easter Day) we will deliver these items to Havana via air.
If you would like to contribute foodstuffs and/or the vitamins requested, you may purchase them through our Cuba Needs 2024 list at Amazon (https://a.co/bcl8H2Q) , and they will be delivered directly to St Paul's. Or, you can purchase items locally and bring them with you to services or to the church office starting on Ash Wednesday. You can also donate money on Ash Wednesday (all offerings at all three liturgies and Ashes to Go will be designated for this purpose) or make a designated donation by check or online.
Sending love and blessings for a most blessed Lenten journey of love and service,
Donna+
