We are moving forward in our multi-faceted efforts with respect to restoring the St Paul's church building and campus. Thanks be to God.
We have received construction plans developed by KW Engineering. A few more changes to those plans over the next few weeks, and we'll be ready to invite bids through Bender & Associates Architects, our client's representative, from general contractors with expertise in masonry repair. The general contractor whose bid is recommended by the building committee will address all the spalling, structural, and other concrete issues in the church building.
We have a bid in hand for Phase 1 of the restoration of the stained-glass windows of St Paul's and, pending vestry approval, will sign that contract and be scheduled for this work as soon as possible by Willet Studios.
In August we will receive the first of two grant payments of $125,000 from the National Fund for Sacred Places.
Although we do not yet have firm dates, we remain optimistic that work on the church building will begin by the fourth quarter of 2025.
We have made tremendous progress and, with God's help, will continue to move forward, step by step, into God's unfolding future and the work to which God is calling us at this time in this place. Like the Holy Family pictured here in a window near the baptistry, our pilgrimage continues.
