Nominations Are Open

21Nov

Each year the parish nominating committee identifies folks to stand for the elected offices of the parish. These offices include vestry members, delegates and alternates to diocesan convention, and trustees of some of our parish funds (Memorial Foundation and Damascus Fund). Those who will serve in these positions are elected at the annual congregational meeting of the parish. Our 2025 annual meeting will be on Sunday, January 26 in the parish hall immediately following the 10 AM Eucharist.

Who is eligible to serve in these positions? All members of record of St Paul's, Key West who are also communicants in good standing. Communicants in good standing are those who are regular in attendance at worship, active otherwise in the life of the parish, and pledging contributors and/or regular givers of record to the general operating fund of the parish. (Another name by which these members of record who are also communicants in good standing are known is as the electors of the parish: those entitled to voice and vote at the annual meeting of the parish.)

The nominating committee members each year are the three members of the outgoing vestry class (this year, Clare Keller, Wendy Niven, and Susanne Woods), the rector, and one elector of the parish who is not a member of the vestry (this year, Ken Bagge).

If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else to serve in one of these elected positions, please submit your or their name(s) to the church office at . (No one should be nominated without their consent.) Tricia will forward those names to the nominating committee members. The nominating committee presents the slate of those eligible and willing to stand for election to the vestry at the December vestry meeting.

Thank you to all those now serving and all those discerning serving in the new year. Together we will move forward into God's unfolding future.
