All Saints Sunday

30Oct

On All Saints Sunday, even more than on most other days, we pray for those whom we love but see no longer. We give thanks for the things they taught us, the good they did us, the joy they brought us. We give thanks to God for giving them to us as companions on our earthly pilgrimage.

Also on All Saints, we remember and give thanks for all those saints from antiquity to modern times on our calendar of commemorations. We give thanks for their examples and sacrifices. We thank God for the ways in which they were lights of the world in their own generations.

All these blessed forebears in life and in faith knew--and know--as we do that the mission of Christ's one holy catholic and apostolic Church continues across the centuries even as the models through which it is lived out continue to change with times, seasons, and circumstances.

Come celebrate All Saints and All Souls with us at 9:30 AM in the parish hall of St Paul's or at 11 AM in the nave of St Peter's. Then, on Sunday, November 9, join us after the 9:30 AM Eucharist in the parish hall of St Paul's for an update on the progress of our restoration.
