On Your Behalf at Diocesan Convention

23Oct

On Friday and Saturday, October 25 and 26, a number of delegates and representatives of the Keys Deanery will represent our deanery and our five Keys congregations at the 55th Diocesan Convention of the Diocese of Southeast Florida.

We will attend to the business of our diocese as we pass the annual diocesan budget and receive reports from various representative bodies that do our collective diocesan work between conventions.

We will also have the privilege and pleasure of spending our formation time with our Presiding Bishop-elect, the Right Reverend Sean Rowe. In addition, Bishop Sean will bring the convention sermon at the Eucharist on Friday evening. He will be installed as the 28th presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church on November 1 and officially begin his nine-year term.

It's always a great time being with folks of many different backgrounds representing the full spectrum of the Episcopal Church in Southeast Florida. It's a boost to one's spirit and a time of fellowship and growth as well.

While some of you are getting your Fantasy Fest on and others of you are hiding inside to avoid all the shenanigans, please lift a prayer for wisdom, good humor, and safe travels for all involved in diocesan convention. Please include in your prayers Michael, our outgoing presiding bishop, Sean, our presiding bishop-elect, Peter, our bishop, and all the clergy and people of the Diocese of Southeast Florida. We gathered at St Andrew's Episcopal Church and School in Boca Raton will be remembering you in our prayers as well.
