Time long past. The good old days. The way things used to be. Auld lang syne.
We shouldn't forget time long past, our good old days, the way things used to be.
And though we shouldn't forget the past, if we live in it, we will die in the future.
As we move into God's unfolding future, much that is old is made new again, much from the past is renewed. Isaiah and a bunch of other prophets have been singing that song for centuries. Jesus the Christ promised much the same.
As one year gives way to another on the calendar, may God renew our hope for all the old that is being made new, all the deteriorated that is being restored, in God's good time.
A most happy new year to all of you and all of yours.
