After receiving his Bachelor of Music degree in voice performance and education from the University of New York at Fredonia, he graduated from Syracuse University with a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance with a concentration in accompaniment.
Before moving to Key West, Mr. Peterson lived in Boca Raton, Florida, where he sang with the Master Chorale of South Florida, serving on its board for nearly 7 years. Mr. Peterson has been a staff accompanist at several universities, including the University of Akron, in Ohio, and at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.
Mr. Peterson is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, (NATS) and served as the secretary and treasurer of the Intracoastal chapter of NATS. He has been a church musician for over 40 years and has served in various denominations, including Presbyterian, Episcopal, Methodist, United Church of Christ, and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
Tim moved to Key West in August 2015, with his husband, Brian Wagstaff, who is the physician and medical director at Key West Urgent Care, on Flagler at Government Road. Mr. Peterson was appointed the director of Music at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in December of 2016.
