In past years, the church kept the Mary Chapel area (the side altar with the statute of the Virgin) open all night so that members could keep vigil as the disciples kept vigil in the garden of Gethsemane. Last year the observance was moved outdoors to the Memorial Garden. This year, we return to the Church but for limited in person hours. From 7:00 PM until 11:00 PM, the chapel area will be open and members and friends are invited to stop by and pray quietly. Participants are reminded to observe the following:

  • Remember this is a quiet reflection time. Silence is the rule and conversations should be saved for outside
  • Masks are required the entire time in the church.
  • Observe social distancing. We have a large physical capacity so households are expected to properly distance from one another while inside.

For those who cannot pray in person, and who want to participate in the vigil, the period from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM will be live streamed on Facebook Live. The stream will then be converted to a recording (also available on Facebook) that can be viewed at any time in the evening as a focus for private devotion at home. To participate via Facebook visit the church Facebook page.
