Timothy Peterson
Director of Music

After receiving his Bachelor of Music degree in voice performance and education from the University of New York at Fredonia, he graduated from Syracuse University with a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance with a concentration in accompaniment. 

He most recently lived in Boca Raton, Florida, where he sang with the Master Chorale of South Florida, serving on its board for nearly 7 years. Mr. Peterson has been a staff accompanist at several universities, including the University of Akron, in Ohio, and at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.

Mr. Peterson is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, (NATS) and served as the secretary and treasurer of the Intracoastal chapter of NATS. He has been a church musician for over 40 years and has served in various denominations, including Presbyterian, Episcopal, Methodist, United Church of Christ, and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.

Tim moved to Key West in August 2015, with his husband, Brian Wagstaff, who is the physician and medical director at Key West Urgent Care, on Flagler at Government Road. Mr. Peterson was recently appointed the director of Music at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in December of 2


Chancel Choir

The Chancel choir at St. Paul's leads the congregation weekly at the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service. There are special services throughout the church year that the choir leads, including occasional Evensong services. Rehearsals are weekly, Saturday mornings from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Newcomers are welcome!

Concert Series, 2018-19

Keys Choral Arts
Tim Peterson,  director of music at St. Paul’s, has been appointed the director for this new, not-for-profit organization.  There are more than 50 singers, from Marathon to Key West.  Initially, there will be 2 performances a year including Christmas with selections from classical to pop.  New members are welcome. Southernmost Chamber Music Society

New this year, under the umbrella of Performance at St. Paul's, we now have a professional artists-in-residence group, "The Southernmost Chamber Music Society." This year, we have 10 professional musicians, vocalists, instrumentalists, and collaborative artists, who will perform monthly concerts in the historic rectory.  For concert dates and more information, Please visit their website at:
